Drove into the city to The Bottom Lounge to see the Arch Enemy tour. A couple hours later after leaving home, I finally arrive at the venue. Did I ever mention that I hate driving into Chicago? Well, needless to say the traffic was awful seeing how it was rush hour.

By the time I had arrived, The Black Dahlia Murder were playing on stage. I listened to one song by them and then went over to the bar and got myself a PBR. I stayed over there until Evergrey came on.

This was the second time that I have seen Evergrey and they were pretty good. They sounded good and the crowd seemed to like what they were playing. As to what songs they played I have no idea because I don't have any of their albums except for a CD-R of In Search of Truth. They didn't have that CD for sale there so I bought their latest album, Recreation Day. I wanted to get the limited edition but they were out of it so I had to settle for the regular version.

It was back over to the bar after their set because Hate Eternal were the next band to perform. Seeing how I think that Hate Eternal are boring when they play live I stayed at the bar until Arch Enemy were to play.

Arch Enemy came on stage and played for about an hour. They played a few of their new songs from, Anthems of Rebellion. I remember them playing, "Dead Eyes See No Future", from that album. They played "Eureka" from their Black Earth album. They also played a few songs from the Wages of Sin album including "Heart Of Darkness", and "Savage Messiah". I made my way up close to take some pictures of Angela. A guy next to me said, "Yeah, get a good shot of that ass of hers." She is very good looking but unfortunately the batteries in my camera died and I forgot to bring spare batteries. They put on one hell of a show and I can't wait to see them again when they open up for Slayer.

It was a pretty good night of metal music. And the ride back home was a lot quicker.
