Well, I didn't get to the HOB in time to see Vile play. I imagine even if I did get there I probably would have still been standing in line outside while they were playing. Because it seems like every time that there is a show at HOB, they have the first band start playing 5 minutes after they start letting people in.
So, the first band that I saw play was Exhumed. The sound at HOB usually is pretty good but for tonight's show it just wasn't that good. I'm not sure how long Exhumed played because I got there late and only saw them play about 3-4 songs. Seemed like the crowd was liking them and a bunch of people were in the moshpit.
Next up was Hypocrisy and these guys are a great fucking band to see play live. Even with the bad sound I still enjoyed their set. They played for 30-40 minutes and their set included material from their new album, The Arrival, which I haven't picked up yet. I don't remember exactly the names of the songs they played, but they ended their set with, "Chicago '47". Lots of people were buying up their merchandise which is good to see.
Last but certainly not least was Cannibal Corpse. They always put on a good show every time that I have seen them play live. And other than bad sound it was a good set from them. They played some of their newer material in which I've got to pick up one of these days. And then they ended their show with one of my favorite songs by them, "Hammer Smashed Face". This was nice to hear because the last time they came through they didn't play it.
Well, other than the bad sound, I had a great time hanging out with friends that I hadn't seen in awhile. Then afterwards I was able to go backstage and that was cool meeting Peter from Hypocrisy and partying with some of the guys in the bands and hanging out.
