Traffic was awful on the way down to the south suburbs of Chicago on Friday for the first day of the fest. Got there around 5:30 pm and Rellik, a local band, was up on stage. They play fast, war inspired deathmetal and were good. Next was Dyscrasia from Madison,Wisconsin and they were alright.Bound & Gagged from the south suburbs played next and got the crowd going. They just finished recording their debut CD that will be available in time for Milwaukee Metalfest.

Screaming Afterbirth from Milwaukee were fucking awesome this time around. Some of the songs they played were:"Anal Volcano","Entangled in Entrails", and "Puke Pile".Personnly, I think they sound better live than they do on their debut CD "Puke Pile". During the song "Puke Pile" the singer proceded to puke on the stage, he vomited several times.

After the puke was all mopped up it was time to ROLL IN CORPSEVOMIT. Corpsevomit from Chicago always put on a good show. The crowd thinned out when they were playing but,for those that didn't wander into the bar area, were treated to a great set by Corpsevomit. Highlights of the set were:"Maggot Lamb" and "Mind Scabs". Rotting from Canada played next and I was hanging out in the bar while they were playing. Internal Sufering from Colombia cancelled so then headliners Monstrosity came out to finish the night off. I had to leave after they played a couple of songs. The crowd was really getting into them.

On to day two of the fest:

As I was driving down the street to get to Rube's, the police were arresting some people in the parking lot. So, the undercover police officer working security there didn't allow re-entry after that. Band members and vendors couldn't even go outside except to load and unload equipment.

Harakiri were just finishing up when I got there so I headed off to the bar and look at merchandise. I stuck around in the bar while Evil Incarnate, the next band to play, was on stage.

Sik Fuk from South Carolina were after them and these guys are really good. There were a lot of people watching them play. Their bass player was fucking incredible! Never seen someone move their fingers that fast before. Look for their debut CD that will be ready in time for Milwaukee Metalfest.

Local boys Reprobation then came on and put on a good show. They just finished up their new CD which will be available from Forever Underground Records in time for Milwaukee.

Regurgitation canceled and Disinter played in their time slot. They had a bad set. The sound sucked and then Mike,one of the guitarists,had problems with his amp head. Not a good night for the hometown boys.

Waco Jesus came on after them and I spent my time perusing CD's and drinking beer in the bar.

Anal Blast played after them and there were alot of people watching them play. They played a new song,"I Can Still Smell Your Cunt", and as they were playing a whore walked out onto the stage and was writhing around. She was up there for a couple of songs and during one of the songs she inserted a microphone into her pussy and was jamming it in and out real fast.

Origin then came up on stage and there were even more people to see them. Things got fucked up though after they played only a couple of songs. People were ripping apart the ceiling tiles and destroying the place. Why? I don't know why they would do that when there's not a whole lot of places here in Chicago for all ages metal shows.

I left shortly after this and don't know whether they allowed the show to continue on. So, I don't know if Gorgasm and Dying Fetus were allowed to play.

I had a great time there eventhough I was really tired on the second day.
