We arrived at the show early and I used my 2 drink tickets for beer and bought 2 more from my friend and drank all 4 beers quick so I could get a buzz, which I did.

The first band was Spiral something or another, and they reminded me a little of Lamb of God, but with a simpler sound. They weren't that bad, but nothing to write home about either. After a few more beers--now $5.50 each the next band came on stage, Nocturn from Dallas, TX. Take Lullacry and make it 10 times worse (I don't mind Lullacry) The lead singer was hot and dressed and acted like Tanja from Lullacry, but had NO VOICE at all!! Add boring, riffs and music all around a put a hot singer to dance around, and you have Nocturn..avoid at all costs!

Next was Entombed!! 5 normal looking guys with short hair or no hair (except one guitarist), kicking ass on stage.  They just cranked! They mixed a bunch of old and new, and really didn't take a break throughout their set. The crowd really was in to this great band, and you could tell that the people who never heard of this band were really getting in to them.

Next after a 20 minute break or so and a bunch of stage props later which included a coffin, walls of fire, and all behind a picket fence came the band and then King himself, the crowd went nuts!! They started out with 4 songs from Abigail: Omens, Arrival and A Mansion in Darkness. Then played a bunch of songs off The Puppet Master and other fan faves 9 (I don't know the names) King Diamond has the most kick ass stage presence I have ever seen...by far. He jams air guitar with his mic, which is a cross made of bones, and isn't afraid to go anywhere on stage. King Diamond's voice sounds just as good if not better! live, It's beyond words--and amazing that anyone can change their voice like that, and he didn't even look like he was trying. Andy Laroquce fucking smoked!! I was lucky enough to be in front of him, and he looked like he wasn't trying very hard either. I won't give away what the stage show is but his female actor can really do her thing well. Along with his new female background singer from Hungry and all around great musicians with king and 3(at least) encores later easily made this the greatest metal show I have EVER been to by far!!

I honestly think King Diamond is the single most kick ass person in Metal today.

King Diamond also has a sense a humor on stage--when he introduced the band one by one, he "forgot about" Andy Laroque, and the crowd went nuts when he "remembered".
