I almost didn't go to this show because one of my friends, who was the one that wanted to go, called me up and wanted to do something else. After my other friend came and picked me up, we went to his house out on the edge of civilization. And we told him that we were still planning on going to the show. We went and bought some beer and then returned to his house and he was ready to go. On the drive up there to Wisconsin, me and my friend were drinking the beer while our other friend drove. Once we got close to the exit for Alpine Valley we saw a few cop cars and we kept our beers out of sight from them. We pulled into the parking lot at around 6:30 pm and the show started at 7pm but we could have cared less for openers, Saliva. So, we stayed in the parking lot and finished off the 18 pack that we had with us. We were going to buy lawn seats when we got up to the ticket both but ended up buying pavillion seats from someone that had 7 tickets that he needed to get rid of. We paid him $80 each for the tickets that would have cost more than $125 had we bought pavilion tickets via Ticketbastard. After we had our tickets in hand and the beer was gone, we started to walk up to the entrance. We each snuck in a small bottle of Jack Daniels. You know those little ones that are the equivalent to one shot. Got through security with no problems. Got our wristbands and went right to the beer tent. $10 for a fucking big glass of Budwesier! What a fucking ripoff! While standing in line my one friend got hit on buy some fat ass bitch, lol. We then proceeded to see where are seats were located and they were pretty damn good seats. We were about 15 rows back from the stage and in the center. As we got there, KISS was going on stage. 'You wanted the best, and you got the best. The hottest band in the world, KISS!' came over the PA system and then they started off their set with "Detroit Rock City" followed by "Deuce". It was fucking great seeing them up close. They put on one hell of a stage show, with Gene spitting blood, breathing fire; lots of pyrotechnics, and lots of lighting. Some other songs that they ended up playing included: "Black Diamond", "100,000 Years", "Rock and Roll All Night", "Destroyer", and "Firehouse". Those are the ones that I remember hearing. I wish they would have played a longer show but it still was a great show. After about 30 minutes or longer, Aerosmith came out on stage. They put on a great show too. But I liked KISS better than them. They played: "Dream On", "Walk This Way", "Jaded", and"Sweet Emotions". They also played one of my favorite songs by them, "Nobody's Fault". They played for about an hour and a half and sounded good. It was a great show and I had a good time there. |
