I got to the Metro around 7pm and Cathedral had just finished playing. I really wanted to see them again too since I've only seen them once before and that was a long time ago. Because it was an all ages show it started early which is why I missed them play.

Strapping Young Lad was the next band to perform and I still don't like them. They sounded better than when I saw them earlier this year at the Vic Theater but I just don't care for Devin Townsend. The guy is just plain out obnoxious if you ask me. During thier set, Alex(twilightlore) came up to me and asked me if I liked them and I said "No, I'm here to see Samael." Well, after they played I think half the crowd left and didn't stick around for Samael.

Samael came out and played for an hour. They sounded really good too. I haven't seen these guys play since they came here to tour in support of Ceremony of Opposites back in 1994. I don't have their newest CD, Eternal so I'm not sure which songs they played off that album. I bought it after the show. I know they played, "Rain" and "The Ones Who Came Before" off of the Passage album. And they played "Black Trip" from the Ceremony of Opposites album. For those that left early they missed a good set by these guys.
