Viper
Theatre Of Fate
[Limb Music]

Viper was Brazil's answer to Helloween. Featuring vocalist Andre Matos (who went on to fame as the vocalist for Angra), Viper released a few albums before Matos parted ways, and the band went in a different musical direction (ramones like punk, from what I understand), and shortly disbanded after their last album tanked.

Theatre of Fate was the album that put them on the map as a force to be reckoned with. Mixing classic Helloween style riffing with some more classical touches (a 4 piece string section performed on the album), Viper created a strong album here. Andre's vocals on the album are probably the one thing that could have been improved. While he has a fantastic voice, and great range, a few times his high notes came off a little strained. If you can overlook these few instances where he faltered, then you can really get into what this band was doing. It's a short album (clocking in under 35 minutes), but the material more than makes it worth picking up.
