About Peter:  On the subject of me, there isn’t a great deal about me you should know. Besides fact that I’m into metal music, I’ve never really had any family issues growing up, nor have I any fascinating stories from my childhood to tell. In case anyone wants to know, I am not a real doctor, but I do pass off as one on the Metal Coven message board. How exactly I came up with the name, I cannot say because to be honest, I don’t even know.

My history of metal music listening and enjoying goes back to my high school days. Before that, I had not really found a particular style of music that I truly enjoyed. That changed in high school, when I decided to follow what I wanted and to not listen to anyone else. 1998 is the earliest known year in which my beginnings can be traced. That year, I bought my first metal CD, Falling into Infinity by Dream Theater. In the subsequent months, more firsts happened, including my first foray into the underground metal scene. In the two or three years after, my identity was being formed and I was finding out about more groups I would not have heard of in the mainstream outlets such as radio or television.

Fast forward to 2004, and an even bigger change happened for me, the idea of trading. The form of trading I did was not an ordinary music for music deal, but music for movies deal. With a friend, I would lend him a CD to listen to for a few days while I would borrow a movie from him and after the time was up, we would give back the respective possessions and say what was good and what was bad. In an indirect sense, this would be the foundation for my venture into a spot as a reviewer. I’m still finding out about new groups and as long as I’m into metal, the education will never end.
